About the QR Code Generator

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that encodes far more data than a traditional linear barcode — enough to hold a full URL, a WiFi network's SSID and password, a vCard contact, or a short block of text, which is why it replaced 1D barcodes for anything meant to be scanned by a phone camera rather than a dedicated retail scanner.

Built-in error correction is what lets a QR code stay scannable even when part of it is obscured or damaged — this is also what makes adding a logo in the center safe, since the correction level absorbs the missing data. This generator supports the common payload types (URL, plain text, email, phone, WiFi credentials, contact cards), lets you customize colors and add a center logo, and exports as PNG, SVG, or JPG depending on whether you need it print-ready or web-embeddable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my QR codes generated on-device?

Yes — all QR generation happens entirely in your browser using the qr-code-styling library. Your data is never sent to a server.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Use M (Medium) for most cases. Choose H (High) when you embed a logo, since the logo covers part of the code and higher redundancy ensures reliable scanning.

What size should I download?

For web use, 512×512 px PNG is plenty. For print, use SVG (scalable, infinite resolution) or a 1024×1024 PNG at minimum.

My QR code isn't scanning — what should I do?

Increase the error correction level to Q or H, increase the size, reduce the logo size, or increase the margin. Very dense data types like vCards may also require a higher QR version.
