About the Crop Image

Cropping removes pixels permanently rather than just hiding them visually, which is what distinguishes it from resizing — resizing scales the whole image up or down while keeping all the content, cropping discards everything outside a selected rectangle, which is what you actually want when the goal is removing a distracting background element or reframing a subject to fit a specific aspect ratio.

This tool gives you a freeform crop selection over the uploaded image so you can drag out the exact region to keep, which is the common workflow for turning a wide photo into a square profile picture, isolating a product from a busy background shot, or trimming a screenshot down to just the relevant UI element before sharing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I crop an image?

Upload an image, then use the crop handles or drag the overlay box to select the area you want to keep. Click 'Crop Image' to process.

Is batch cropping supported?

Currently only single image cropping is supported for precise area selection. The cropped image maintains full quality.

What formats are supported?

You can crop JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP images (TIFF isn't supported since browsers can't preview it). JPG and WEBP inputs are cropped to the same format; other formats are exported as PNG.
